DON’T rely on authorities to maintain your waterways smooth. Do your share as responsible citizens in caring for the surroundings.

This became the message of the Quezon City authorities when it spearheaded a smooth-up force alongside the rivers of Tullahan, Marikina, Dario and San Juan—all of which traverse the town.

Its Environmental Protection and Waste Management Department (EPWMD) conducted the easy-up on June 28 and 30 as a part of the town authorities’s participation in the Philippine Environment Month.

”The city authorities of Quezon City thru the EPWMD is continuously coordinating with villages and groups. We are project records and education campaigns, orientations and seminars to contain the communities. We want to assist every different. We all have an duty to smooth the waterways,” stated Jonjon Espaldon, EPWMD unique operations segment assistant head, in Filipino.

Quezon City enacted an ordinance prohibiting the throwing of garbage in rivers and creeks. City Ordinance 1506-2005 amended ordinance 6305-sixty five prohibiting the throwing of any sort of rubbish, waste remember, or refuse in any drainage outlet together with rivers, creeks, or any of its tributaries.
